October 10, 2023 (Voltility) — Equinor-owned energy storage developer East Point Energy has acquired a 1 00MW/200MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) from Black Mountain Energy Storage (BMES) in Cameron County, Texas.
East Point-owned Citrus Flatts Energy Center, LLC filed an Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) Standard Generation Interconnection Agreement (SGIA) with the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUC) October 4th 2023.
BMES began development of the project in early 2022 but sold the project to East Point Energy August 30th 2023.
