ABOUT STEVEN
Steven serves as the Director of Pre-Construction and is an accomplished engineer and project manager with expertise in renewable energy, procurement, and supply chain management.
Prior to Black Mountain, Steven worked at Invenergy, a leading renewable energy company, where he held two positions: Manager of Procurement and Project Engineer in Renewable Development.
As Manager of Procurement, Steven was responsible for leading technical procurement for Invenergy’s 3GWh energy storage pipeline. He spearheaded procurement strategy, expanded relationships with suppliers, and negotiated over $500MM in framework agreements to secure portfolio pricing and technology assumptions.
As Project Engineer in Renewable Development, Steven led the engineering of over 800MWs of wind and storage facilities. He also served as resident expert for the company during project negotiations with regulatory stakeholders, including the Department of Defense, NORAD, FAA, and state and local authorities.
Steven also served as a Project Manager for EcoSwell, where he led the engineering and construction of a transportable solar water distiller to provide sustainable drinking water to a remote community in Peru.
Steven has a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a concentration in Energy and a minor in Sustainable Engineering from the University of Michigan. He also studied Clean Energy Engineering at the University of Xiamen in China.
